Day 7 Belize – Day of Relaxing

I woke up around 8:00 and went about my morning routine of playing the New York Time games and ate a very normal breakfast of spaghetti. With only having a couple of days left we are trying to eat up what we can. We didn’t have anything on the agenda today so we took our time and eventually ventured down to our spot on the beach. We stayed there for about three hours and I read the book I started yesterday, “The First Lady” by James Patterson under a nice shady umbrella.

Upon leaving the beach we went to “The Baker” bakery/restaraunt that we have visited before. This is the place with the cool mural on the wall. Today I got the chicken nachos. They were outstanding!! Some of the best nachos I’ve had at a restaraunt ever! In fact, it is now almost 11:30p.m. and I still feel full from the great meal I ate at 3:00. The owner swung by our table many times and offered us to try some free drink concoctions they were making for a photo shoot. The first one had Bailey’s, Guiness, Condensed Milk and Nutmeg. I didn’t like that one so much. It had too much nutmeg in it. The second drink had strawberry, soda water, and mint and I thought that was very good. It is a drink I would order.

Having ate so much I definitely needed to go for a walk so Linda and I walked to get the last stop on the Adventure Lab. This is the one we tried to do the other day that took us down a road that the local told us we were in the wrong spot. Today we walked over there and went down the road right before the one we were at before and it didn’t take long before we got into the range for the Adventure Lab question to appear. It was a random question about Belize and not really specific to the area we were. I’m not sure why the owner of the Adventure Lab set the coordinates for that exact location. None-the-less I was happy to have been able to complete the Adventure Lab. From there we walked through town and we stopped at the tiny little casino. Linda put a couple bucks in a slot machine in honor of Dad, but luck was not on our side today.

Back at the apartment Pete, Laurie, Linda and I played one game of Phase 10 in which I won and two games of Swoop in which Pete won both games. Linda and I ended the night with watching the movie Barefoot. When it was over we both agreed we had probably seen it before, but neither one of us had really remembered it. Hard to believe that tomorrow is our last full day here.
