Grenada Waterfalls

I woke up around 8:30 after having an ok night’s sleep.  I had woken up in the middle of the night sweating because I had turned the air conditioning off, so I turned it back on, but then I got really cold.  First thing I did after I woke up in the morning was I figured out how to work the air conditioner.  It should be better moving forward.  For breakfast I ate the Hazlenut Crave cereal.  It was ok, but it might have been just been ok because of the boxed milk.  I’m not sure buying a super big box was the best plan, but it didn’t come in another size so it will have to do and I will eat it. Let’s just say that if I had access to buy this cereal on the regular . . . I wouldn’t.

Erica and I walked down to Groom’s Beach and enjoyed our time finding lots of sea glass and sea shells.  We stopped back to check in on Amanda who was sleeping when we left.  She still had to get ready so Erica and I walked down to Portici Beach by the Monkey Bar we were at the previous night and continued our sea glass/sea shell hunt.  We had more success and enjoyed another nice walk on a beach and by the time we got back Amanda was ready to go.

Once we left the BnB we took a 50 minute drive to Seven Sister’s Water Fall.  There were a couple of small tour buses in the parking lot along with a couple of cars, but the buses looked like their people were just returning and on their way out, and we passed only a few people on our 30 minute hike to the waterfalls.  At the falls there was just three other people enjoying them.  It was nice not to be amongst a huge group of people.  We swam in the pool but the current was too strong to comfortably swim under the falls.  The water was nice and cool and refreshing.  We enjoyed our time before we took the hike back.  The hike back felt a little more strenuous than the hike there.  My legs are definitily feeling it and I need to do a lot more training before hiking Mt Blanc next summer.

We drove from Seven Sister’s Water Fall to Annandale Water Fall.  Annandale was like the complete opposite to Seven Sister’s in terms of the hike and surrounding area.  Annandale was a paved path to the falls and much more of a touristy feel to include paying a small entrance fee.  We took a few pictures, opted not to swim and decided to move on.

It was about an hour drive back to the restaurant that was recommended to us by the people we met at Seven Sister’s Waterfall.  We found some parking at a nearby park and walked down to La Plywood Beach Bar Cafe on BBC beach.  We each ordered the fish tacos and shared an order of french fries.  I had to scrape the cucumbers off the tacos but they were still very good and the fries hit the spot.  We watched a nice sunset while we were eating and when we were done we took a walk on the beach to walk off dinner.

The drive back to the BnB was interesting as we took a few wrong turns . . . one took us up a super steep hill that felt like that we were on the American Eagle at Six Flags. At the end of the climb there was a dead end at what appeared to be some sort of large antenna.  The drive back down was just as scary but we made it.  We made one more wrong turn before we got on the right roads back to the BnB.  We got back around 7:30 and got ready for the Brewer game.  We were so happy that they won Game 1 of the NLDS! Let’s Go Brewers!
