Girls Trip 2026 – Grenada!

I had to get up super early for a very early 5:30 a.m. flight. It’s been a long time since I had to be up so early but it wasn’t a problem and once at the airport there was absolutely no lines and I breezed right to the gate. I did not pay for a seat and thankfully the plane was not full. Erica did not have anybody sitting next to her so she talked to flight attendant and was able to have me move from the back of the plane where I was sitting with everybody in my row, to sit up by her in an exit row. It didn’t cost me anything extra which was a super bonus! Thanks Erica for looking out for me! On the second flight I was in the back of the plane again but nobody in my row. It was great.

Once we landed getting through immigration was easy and since none of us checked a bag, we were able to move right along to pick up our rental car which also was easy peasy.  I rented a Subaru Crosstrek so I would be familiar with the Subaru features. They do drive on the opposite side of the road here, but I have also done that before and it came back to me pretty easily.  Our AirBnB was a very short drive from airport (maybe 10 minutes or less).  It took us a minute to figure out the combos to get in, but we eventually got it. The AirBnB is very spacious with a nice table to play games and a comfortable sitting area to watch the tv for what we hope will be many Brewer’s wins in the NLDS. Hopefully the link below works to see the AirBnB. You may need to copy and paste it into your browser.

We went to the grocery store to pick up the essentials (water, beer, cereal, etc). The parking lot was not huge and getting into a very tight sparking spot was a challenge but yet comical. The store is pretty good and had a good selection of items. I picked up a Hazlenut version of a Krave type cereal. I really love chocolate Krave so I hope this will be just as good.

After dropping off the groceries we decided to venture out on a walk.  We started going one direction but after talking to a very friendly local we realized we should be walking the other way.  We finally made it to a beach and got our feet in the sand. I was surprised that I found some seaglass right away. Prior to coming I researched the seaglass situation here and didn’t really find a lot of information so it was a nice surprise to find some. We had a drink at the Banana Bar on the beach. I had rum punch but it was twisting my gut when I was only halfway through the drink so I didn’t bother to finish it.  I don’t need to start the trip with stomach issues. We went to dinner at the nearby hotel restaraunt.  I had a proscuitto arugula cheese pizza and it was very good.  We went back to the AirBnB and Amanda and I talked for a bit, while Erica passed right out! It was a good travel day and we’re excited to explore Grenada!
